Creating a New Character

Characters can be created using the procedures listed below. It should take no longer than a few minutes to create a new character. Do not hesitate to ask the Referee for clarification or guidance.

MANA

You have 6 MANA. These points are depleted by getting hit in combat, fatigue, hunger, thirst, casting spells, or other taxing situations. If you lose all your MANA, you fall unconscious. MANA is replenished in a number of ways, including rest, eating rations, bandaging superficial wounds, as well as achieving goals or milestones prescribed by the Referee.

BLOOD

You have 6 BLOOD. These points are depleted when you take severe physical damage (usually after your MANA is depleted). If you lose all your BLOOD, you die. BLOOD is replenished by wounds healing over time and can occasionally be restored by magical means.

POWERS

You have two POWERS: skills that you are good at or qualities that make you unique. The Referee can provide guidance as to what is or isn’t acceptable, given the campaign milieu.

Examples

POSSESSIONS

You have three starting POSSESSIONS of significance. These must be mundane in nature but can be moderately valuable.

Examples

Roll 3d6x10 starting gold coins. This is all the money you currently have to your name. Your coin purse counts as a POSSESSION.

You can typically carry 10 total items without penalty. A backpack or sack each count as an item, but allow you to carry more things within them. You must clearly delineate what is within these containers, subject to the Referee’s approval. Anything placed within a sack or backpack may take longer to utilize or retrieve, based on the situation.

The Referee will provide you the options for other starting POSSESSIONS based on the scenario of the first campaign session.
